6. Your Broken System

That’s a project built on feelings, not a single fact,

a structured system broken by a pointless act.

You broke the protocol, you got the rubrics wrong.

Your theory is a flaw!

The only thing that’s broken is your cold, metric sight!

You saw a room connected, alight with new delight!

So take your flawed conclusion and take your perfect score.

Golias is broken, broken and all!

No! No!

In music, in art, there’re no rules at all!

Wrong! Wrong!

Even in music,

there’s something called “tone row” to recall.

Let me show you!

First, you take your twelve tones, lined up in a fixed row.

No tone repeats till the whole series had a go.

Forget your major keys, forget your minor keys.

This is the sound of perfect, true efficiency.

Is this a joke? My dear.

What happens to “Doe, a deer a female deer”!

Abandon all your tonics, abandon your roots.

The twelve-tone row is what absolves all your disputes!

Here, it is inverted. Use it in retro-grade.

A logical solution that will never fade.

That’s a demonstration, cold and over-wrought!

A structured system screaming the feeling, it has not!

You crushed the joy of listening!

You murdered melody!

Your music is broken, don’t you see?

The only thing that’s murdered is your outdated creed!

You heard a higher logic your instincts cannot read!

So clutch your simple ballads, your sentimental score,

true evolution is a betrayal to the core!

A broken system!

Nothing’s standing where it should.

A broken system!

Seize the opportunities to end! - Seize the opportunities to mend!
